Clarification - Yellow Cat issue
In response to some anonymous enquiry on some open and public website which said " $1800 for 3 cats? How about the other 2? Is desexing and medical check up compulsory " , Companion Animal Federation hereby expressly clarifies as follows :

1. There was a family of yellow cats ( 1 Mother Cat and 2 new-born kittens ). Then 2 orphan black kitten was also
taken to this Yellow mother cat for milking and nursery as this is the only life-saving chance for them. Therefore, there were totally 5 cats in question.

Companion Animal Federation had been taking care of the whole family for a month, including bathing, grooming and necessary nursing care.

2. As a Life - respecting Organization, CAF upholds our " Stop Mischap, No slay "Mission to unwanted/ loss/abandoned animals in Hong Kong. CAF is missioned to save lives and spread the importance to support the notion of Life-loving ©; Companion Animal Federation requested the adopter of the yellow cat family to provide the same best affordable care to the other 2 orphan black kitten - ie: with a total of 5 cats.

3. Supporting the notion of Neutering-replacing-Killing, and encouraging minimizing animal breeding , the medical package for CAF Parenthood_Adoption include :

3.1 Veterinary visual physical inspection
3.2 First shot of DHPPI vaccination
3.3 Desex Operation ( Custration or Spay)
3.4 1st shot of anti-rabies vaccination
3.5 Licencing
3.6 Microchip

The medical fee for each cat in relation to point 3 is $600/ each。

Please refer to http://www.hkcaf.org/2004web/Eng/e_parentingwork.sub3.adoptapply.htm

4. Founded on our belief to spread the importance of respect of life, Companion Animal Federations agreed to provide the 2 orphan black kittens with all particular medical care and desex operations free of charge, which include: Veterinary visual physical inspection , first shot of DHPPI vaccination Desex Operation ( Custration or Spay), 1st shot of anti-rabies vaccination, Licencing under the name of the adopter and Microchip implantation.

5. The said adopter only needed to pay for the medical package for only 3 cats which is a total of $1,800

6. As an award of appreciation of this life-saving act, Companion Animal Fedration agreed to deduct all other fees

7. In case there is a difference in the amount to be paid for the medical package for the said cats which may due to medical complications, such difference will be funded by the CJARR Medical Fund .

Very often, rescued animals by CAF are injured, very ill or on the verge of being put down because of a medical condition and are in need of emergency veterinary treatment in order that their lives would be saved. Most of these treatment are very, very expensive and the precious life of these rescued animals are all funded by CJARR : http://www.hkcaf.org/caf_CJARR.htm.

At the same time, Companion Animal Federation would like to welcome your comments via email to caf@hkcaf.org . Any public untrue , defamatory, attactive and discrimiative statement is considered higly irresponsible and would be liable to commit an offence.

It is the belief of CAF to rectify the wrong notion of [foresaking any animal just because they are no more " young ", less attractive, has a little health problem, or merely is not a pedigree.]

Through various CAF Life saving programs, we arrange to provide food, shelter and care to the animals and we believe all animals need a warm home via our pro-active Parenting work. Merely a temporary shelter is not enough.

Finally, CAF would like to express our gratitude to all CAF supporters and members and also to legal professionals who have provided invaluable advice for such incident.
